General updates | JW — Roitberg request - Mobley or I will tag you in if/when needed. JW – UK workshop – “Josh can join remotely” - Could you remind me if this is Josh H? MT – Horton’s involvement wasn’t explicitly stated, I assumed he’ll be involved in-person. I think DC’s comments were about Josh M, not Josh H. JW – I’d love to leave this in your hands unless you ask me for anything MT – Yup, I consider DC to be the point person on this.
JW – SMIRNOFF plugins actions? Why was this in my notes? Does this have a meaning? MT – I reviewed your PR, you should address that. After that I’ll review Hogan PR. JW – Great. Thanks, I’ve added to my to-do list.
JW — typing-extensions/pydantic pin stuff seems resolved. Nice work. JW — I’ll be talking at Scipy and doing a poster at Gordon. Feel free to join in. Workshop postmortem - Any feedback? MT – In terms of industry/academia split, I’d have different views of the meeting if I were an industry person who spent my weekend there than as an academic. It wasn’t clear which talks were focused on things that are headed for release/which were more open-ended. A tighter schedule may have been more appealing for industry, but a longer schedule would have been more appealing for academics. MT – For the retreat, it was tremendous. I loved the location and being able to hang out with people I’d otherwise never hang out with. Given the circumstances I can’t think of anything that could have been improved. If anything, I’d lean more into “not having a schedule”.
