General updates

• JW – Polymer work likely restarting. Met with Shirts and Matta (UK PI). Led with a slide that may be useful in the future.

• JW – Thoughts on in person workshop planning? Likely 3 days - Day 1+2 = OMSF external faceing meeting (probably 0.8 days for OpenFF), then a third day for internal work and hopefully a social event in the evening. Then team retreat at essex woods.

  • MT – No strong feelings. Will I need to lead a session or run tech support at annual meeting?

  • JW – Probably not. You’ll get at least a month of warning if you need to lead anything.

  • MT – Would be good to make sure that any planning session has industry representation so that we don’t get fully committed to academic goals without their input.

  • JW – Day 3 would be for kinda conceptual alignemnt - We haven’t gotten much value from postdocs and grad students since COVID largely because we haven’t been motivated to coordinate on a personal level.

  • MT – Would caution against getting too much new input/brainstorming that just leads to side quests/disappointment/frustration. In the end I’d like to clearly understand what value we gained and how I’m supposed to contribute.
