MT Any changes to my work that would make you more productive? Could put some work into polishing appearance in ad board meetings. JW – Re: ad board component - I’d like to pivot to focusing more on impact and achievements rather than using ad board as a source of accountability (JE is picking that up well). So maybe code blocks showing new functionality or things that didn’t work before but do now. MT – I think that’s a good idea - showing what can now be done will generate more interest from ad board. Agree that ad board presentation format from 3 years ago is no longer relevant/needed now. Happy to reserve some bandwidth for material for ad board meetings if you let me know what you want. JW – Could be good to occasionally include API examples/graphs in PR body comments (this already frequently happens), and then I can trawl through these and show them to ad board. MT – I think that’s part of the way there. One question is where to compile it/how to know when to do it. JW – Maybe I could request these as part of reviewing particularly cool PRs? MT – That would be a good starting point.
JW – It has worked well in the previous sprints to have the whole team focused on certain areas. I think this would be useful to keep up with. MT – I was kinda hoping that we would have done that this sprint. It comes with the possible downside of accumulating technical debt. But I think this is really worth trying. JW – I think this didn’t get prepared last week because we were still kinda hung over from annual meeting, but want to make it more of a priority in the future.
JW While I’m out, the major priorities I can think of are: Continue improving benchmarking, using your judgement as far as possible and looping in LW/others when needed Continue supporting anything needed for 2.3.0 release Continue general interop dev (GROMACS and OMM vsites) Test importing lipids parameterized by OMM/OMMFFs and combining with Sage/ff14sb-port components (see what FF settings would need to be changed to make them combinable). Could end as a notebook in anything-goes. MT – Might be doable out of the box right now? Minor technical thing - the lipid FF would be from OMM, not OMMFFs (the latter is more for small mol FFs, and some newer stuff). So this may be a bit “safer” since the FFs in OMM are more vanilla.
JM will be available for PR review, though he’ll likely be tasked with PTM workflow/protein loading stuff, so try to balance his time. Also it could be good to communicate directly on the zenhub-discussions channel with him so nuances don’t get lost between standups. MT – Should I plan check-ins with JM? JW – You won’t be responsible for his workloads/priorities, but you seem to have great discussions when you do meet, so schedule-permitting I’m slightly in favor. MT – Sounds good, schedule-permitting I’ll try to run into him during a standup or another time.
I still need to mail your charger - Will do today!
