Team Iterations

The project staff works in 2 week “iteration” cycles (aka sprints). Each iteration consists of three meeting types: Planning meeting, Standup, and Retrospective. We make use of Zenhub, a management platform that collects Issues from a set of github repos and tracks them in one place.

The planning meeting happens as close as possible to the beginning of the iteration. In the planning meeting, we decide which Issues we should address in the current iteration.

The Standup happens daily. We spend no more than 15 minutes reviewing and updating a kanban board to reflect which work was finished, which is awaiting review, and which is in progress. If any Issue needs additional discussion, the team members discussing it can call for a “sitdown,” staying a few minutes after the standup ends.

The retrospective happen as close as possible to the end of the iteration. In the retrospective, we review the work process of the iteration, reflect on our experiences, and propose modifications for future iterations.
